A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
SUPPORTING THE CITY OF KODIAK DRUG ENFORCEMENT POLICY
WHEREAS, it is evident that drug trafficking in Kodiak has
; increased; and
WHEREAS, many accidental injuries and deaths and almost all
crime occurring in the Kodiak Island Borough is drug related; and
WHEREAS, the United States and the state of Alaska spend
of dollars every year to treat drug abuse patients; and
WHEREAS, this is a matter of concern for the general health,
welfare and public safety of the citizens of Kodiak; and
WHEREAS, all citizens should be concerned and should not
allow illegal drugs to decrease the quality of life in Kodiak;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly strongly supports the drug enforcement policy of the
Kodiak City Council and the enforcement efforts of the city of Kodiak
through its Police Department.
