A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY DECLARING
CERTAIN BOROUGH REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF LANDS WITH THE CITY OF
OLD HARBOR FOR THE SCHOOL ADDITION PROJECT
WHEREAS, additional land is necessary to provide a suitable
building site for the Old Harbor school addition; and
WHEREAS, the city of Old Harbor is the adjacent property
owner and has entered into negotiations with the borough to exchange
real property; and
WHEREAS, the borough is offering a portion of borough land
that is encroached upon by Three Saints Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the borough is receiving vacant land adjacent to
the school building; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held an
advertised and noticed public hearing and is recommending approval of
'the land exchange;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly declare a portion of Lot 1B, Block 1, Tract A, U.S. Survey
4793 Townsite. of Old Harbor surplus for municipal purposes and directs
the mayor to exchange said portion of borough real property for lands
owned by the city of Old Harbor and legally described as a portion of
,Lot 2, Block 1, Tract A, U.S. Survey 4793; Lot 1, Black 2, Tract A,
U.S. Survey 4793, Townsite of Old Harbor at the northeasterly portion
l of Salmonberry Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that survey coats and other
administrative costs be borne by the borough.
