1988-28 Authorizing Leasing of the Office Space in the KIB Building.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING
EASING OF THE OFFICE SPACE IN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH BUILDING.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the owner of Lots 5 end 7 of
U . S. Survey 2636A and ail improvemests thereon; and
WHEREAS. the main building, • former dormitory, has Dean converted to
• n olfic• building of which approximately 77 percent is used for office space
a nd the remaining span Is common area; and
WHEREAS, the property dad contains • restrictive clause limiting the
se to school and other purposes only; and
WHEREAS. the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to manage the
property as ■ self- sustaining enterprise and to meet this goal it is advantag-
e ous to provide full occupancy by renting the available span to qualified
occupants, giving first priority to school and borough use.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Borough Mayor is authorised to negotiate I ith the following
g overnmental and qualifying non - profit corporations at a cost of 11.00 per
square foot:
Space 01 Kodiak Island Borough School District - 4.661 square feet
Space 62 Kodiak Island Borough - 10,094 square feet
Spate 113 City of Kodiak - 3.696 square feet
Space 61 KMXT Radio Station - 1,413 square feet
Space e6 Kodiak Island Borough - 673 square net
Space 06 Legislative Affairs - 942 square feet
Space 01 State of Alaska ClRA - 236 square net
Space 68 Amsrican Red Cross - 100 square net
Space 09 Kodiak Tribal Council - 130 square feet
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms and Conditions of lean shall
be those provided in the written document as prepared and entitled Li•a•
Aareamaat.
