1988-20 Authorizing the Acquisition of Certain Private Land for Additional Right-of-way of Cliffside Road.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORI: THE
ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PRIVATE LAND FOR ADDITIONAL RIGHT OF CLIFFSIDE
ROAD.
WHEREAS, KIBC 18.10.010(8) authorizes the acquisition of real property by
the Kodiak Island Borough by direct purchase; and
WHEREAS, KIBC 18.10.020 establishes a procedure of acquiring real
property by adoption of an Assembly resolution that may set terms, ccnditions,
and manner of acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the present alignment of Cliffside Road encroaches and traverses
a privately owned lot; and
WHEREAS, the cost in purchasing additional right-of -way appears to be
more cost effective than realigning the road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
authorizes the Mayor to enter into negotiation= to purchase a portion of Lot
6A, Block 5, Miller Point Alaska Subdivision Presently occupied by Cliffside
Road.
