1988-15 Endorsing the Concept of a School Related Teen Center and Directing Staff to Prepare Preliminary Design.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ENDORSING THE
CONCEPT OF A TEEN CENTER AND DIRECTING STAFF TO PREPARE PRELIMINARY DESIGN.
WHEREAS. the Student Body of the Kodiak Island High School has
prepared a proposal for the development of a school related teen center in
close proximity to the Kodiak High School; and
WHEREAS, this proposal has been favorably reviewed in work sessions
by both the Kodiak Island Borough School District Board and the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the Student Body efforts have identified the student needs,
possible community uses, school uses, and a management concept; and
WHEREAS, the proposal has merit and needs further exploration.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the concept of a teen center in close proximity to the Kodiak High School
is hereby endorsed and staff is directed to initiate development of preliminary
design specifications, with assistance of the student body and appropriate
private sector interest.
