1988-12 Modifying the Land Ownership Pattern on Shuyak Island.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY MODIFYING THE
LAND OWNERSHIP PATTERN ON SHUYAK ISLAND.
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska and the Kodiak Island Borough are the
major owners of Shuyak Island; and
WHEREAS, Senator Fred F. Zharoff has proposed a modification of the
ownership boundaries by exchanging land identified in Exhibit 'A' attached
hereto; and
WHEREAS, such an exchange would increase land management efficiency
on the Island for both the Kodiak Island Borough and the State of Alaska.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly supports the proposed lands exchange with the following conditions of
approval:
1. All Borough land conveyed to the State by
included in the Shuyak Island State Park.
2. The Department of Natural Resources shall
disposal 500 acres of state owned land in
Borough.
