RESOLUTION NO. 66 -08-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY IDENTIFYING THE
KODIAK REGIONAL AOUACULTURE ASSOCIATION AS THE MANAGING AGENT FOR THE KARLUK
LAKE FERTILIZATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has appropriated 660.000
for FY 66 for continuation of the Karluk Lake Fertilization Project, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has appropriated no funds for this
project. and
WHEREAS, the funds were available to the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture
Association subject to the association raising funds of more than 660.000, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture Association has raised funds
in excess of 660.000 and has off.red to manage the use of the 660,000 to
accomplish the project including preparing the contract specification, award of
contracts and contract compliance. and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture Association is the only
state authorized aquaculture association in the Borough and should therefore be
selected as • sole source contractor,
WHEREAS. the management by the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture
Association would result in direct involvement in salmon enhancement by the
Association, lower overhead cost and Increase benefits to the entire community.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Asssmbly
,that the 660.000 app iated for the Karluk Lek• Fertilization Project is
,available to the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture Association in the role of
managing agent subject to the normal terms and conditions of a management
I.■ meat to be negotiated by the mayor.
