RESOLUTION NO. 86 -83 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING A CONTRIBUTION
TO THE 'BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY' TRUST.
WHEREAS. the residents of the Kodiak Island Borough are recipients
of • great deal of service from the U. S. Coast Guard, and
WHEREAS. the Coast Guard personnel are greatly appreciated members
of the Kodiak Island Community. and
WHEREAS, each person living on Kodiak Island has shared in the grief i
resulting from the tragic helicopter crash on Sunday. November 2, 1986 which
claimed the lives of six Coast Guard crew members and 1e11 behind six families
including several children. and
WHEREAS. these six men have given beyond the call of duly to the
Kodiak Island Community, and
WHEREAS, an education trust fund has been established for the
children of the men.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
'.that a contribution from the Kodiak Island Borough of 825.000 is hereby
'authorized to the "Beyond the Call of Duty' Trust with the funds to be drawn
from the Transfers and Contributions Account.
