RESOLUTION NO. 86 -58 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY APPROVING THE
EXISTING LANDFILL SITE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SOLID WASTE BALING FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has determined Baling to be the
best solution for solid waste disposal on Kodiak Island, and
WHEREAS, baling equipment has been purchased and delivered to Kodiak
for use in the Baling Facility, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has determined that the
least offensive location of the Baling Facility is at the existing sanitary
landfill site, and
WHEREAS, the proposed Baling Facility Site has been recommended as
meeting the design criteria, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to implement
construction of the Baling Facility in a timely manner.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
to approve utilizing the existing landfill site for the construction of a
Solid Waste Baling Facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution 85 -90 -R placing the baling
facility at Smokey's Dump is hereby rescinded.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7 day of August , 1986 by the
Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
