STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PAVING OF SOUTH RUSSIAN CREEK
ROAD, SARGENT CREEK ROAD, AND KALSIN DRIVE, AND ALLOCATING AREA -
WIDE ROAD FUNDS TO THE WOMENS BAY SERVICE AREA FOR PREPARATORY
WORK.
WHEREAS, the Womens Bay Service Area Advisory Board has requested that
South Russian Creek Road, Sargent Creek Road, and Kalsin Drive be paved during the
summer of 1986; and
WHEREAS, in keeping with the rural nature of the area, the Advisory Board
desires to limit the asphalt paving width to 20 feet on South Russian Creek and Sargent
Creek Roads and to 18 feet on Kalain Drive; and
WHEREAS, some preparatory work is needed to widen the existing roads to
sufficient width to accommodate the paving project; and
WHEREAS, the Womens Bay Advisory Board desires to accomplish the preparatory
work with their maintenance contractor in order to limit costs.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that staff is authorized to advertise for bids for the paving of South Russian Creek Road,
Sargent Creek Road, and Kalain Drive as requested by the Womens Bay Service Area
Advisory Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that $156,000 in Area -Wide Road funds
are allocated to the Women' Bay Service Area for work preparing the existing roads for
paving.
