EXECUTION OF CONTRACT AMENDMENTS NO. 12 AND 13 VITA A UTHORIZING
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR SD41 PROJECT NO.
SUBDIVISION GRADING, DRAINAGE, SUS. URS COMPANY FOR
ACING AND UT ILITIE58pRqJECI, THE LAKESIDE
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough by Resolution No. 82 -13 -R
approved a contract with URS Company for design of water and sewer improvement
in Service District No. 1; and
WHEREAS, Project No. 85 -1(8) has been advertised for construction
bids; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly approved a contract with
Arthur H. Whiter Associates on May, 1982 to provide preliminary subdivision
i plane and roadway designs
j for the Beaver Lake area; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly approved Amendment No. 1
to the URS Company contract on June 3, 1982 providing for design of water and
sewer im provements in Lakeside Subdivision in the the Beaver Lake area; and
AR EAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to dispose of
land in Lakeside Subdivision at a fall 1986 land sale; and
WHEREAS, c onstruction of road and utility i mprovements is necessary
before the land can be sold; and
WHE TS, the Kodiak Island Borough does not have sufficient staff to
provide construction management services considering other projects
concurrently under construction, does not have time to hire qualified
I additional staff and obtain necessary support equipment; and does not desire
to increase staff and support equipment for short term needs; and
I
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough continue with ugh desires to have URS C
project administration �Rany
through the construction phase.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that Amendments No. 12 and 13 for provision

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above expenditures are hereby
authorized from funds received for the Island Lake Water and Sewer Project and
! the Selief Lane Extension Grant and that the Borough Mayor is hereby
authorized and instructed to execute the appropriate documents.
