RESOLUTION NO. 83 -71 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING STAFF
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SUNDBERG AND ASSOCIATES, INC. /DYKEMAN, OGDEN, ALDRIDG
& QUINTON FOR DESIGN OF THE KODIAK AUDITORIUM /OLD MAIN SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, Sundberg and Associates, Inc. /Dykeman, Ogden, Aldridge &
Quinton have tendered a proposal dated May 3, 1983 to complete design services
for the Auditorium /Old Main School project for $223,644, and
WHEREAS, the design is in accordance with the Upper Mill Bay School
Complex Master Plan authorized by Kodiak Island Borough Resolution No. 81 -89 -R,
and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School District has recommended
hat the Borough proceed with designing the auditorium complex and the Borough
as completed the preliminary design work as authorized by Kodiak Island Borough
esolution No. 82 -28 -R, and
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Resolution No. 83 -20 -R recognizes the
eed for a multi -use auditorium which preserves the integrity of the design
eveloped in conjunction with the auditorium committee, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska intends to grant to the Kodiak Island
:orough $294,000 to complete the design of the auditorium /Old Main project, and
WHEREAS, the architects have indicated that after July 1, 1983 there
ill be a five percent increase in fees to design the auditorium complex, and
WHEREAS, Borough staff have as authorized the architects to proceed
ith the completion of the auditorium /Old Main design in an amount not to exceed
223,644 subject to the receipt of the state grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
hat the action of the staff to authorize the auditorium /Old Main design in an
mount not to exceed $223,644 subject to the state grant is hereby ratified.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of July , 1983 by the Borough
ssembly.
