RESOLUTION 83 -67 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE
STATE LIAISON OFFICER AS PROVIDED BY THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND.
WHEREAS, The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has approved a "Compre-
hensive Park and Recreation Plan" for the Borough which identifies a community
park at Mill Bay Beach, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Land and Water Conservation
Fund, federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid
in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of outdoor
recreational facilities of local public bodies, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly considers it in the
public interest to develop a community park at Mill Bay Beach on Lots 1 and 2,
Block 1, of the Second Addition to the Miller Point Alaska Subdivision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough:
1. That the manager be authorized to make formal application to the
State Liaison Officer for fund assistance,
2. That any fund assistance so received be used for the development of
a community park at Mill Bay Beach in the Kodiak Island Borough,
3. That the Borough's share of the project will be derived from Borough
funds dedicated to recreation development, and
4. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the
Alaska Division of Parks.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly this 2nd
day of June , 1983.
