A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OPPOSING SENATE
BILL 154 WHICH WOULD BRING ALL PUBLIC EMPLOYEES UNDER THE PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT
RELATIONS ACT.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 154 has been introduced in the first session
of the Thirteenth Legislature, and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 154 would amend A.S. 23.40 by adding a new
section bringing all public employees under the Public Employment Relations
Act, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly passed Resolution
No. 79 -5 -R on February 6, 1979 rejecting the provisions of the Alaska Public
Employment Act because they did not deem it to be in the best interest of the
'Kodiak Island Borough to have these provisions apply to the Borough, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has not changed its position on
the Public Employment Relations Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Legislature of the State of Alaska defeat Senate Bill 154, which would
bring all public employees under the Public Employment Relations Act.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be communicated as
