RESOLUTION NO. 83 -25 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE
FORMATION OF A REGIONAL AQUACULTURE ASSOCIATION IN KODIAK.
WHEREAS, a regional salmon enhancement program is being developed
for the Kodiak area; and
WHEREAS, this twenty -year (20) plan is being developed by a Regional
Planning Team (RPT) appointed by the Kodiak Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, a Regional Aquaculture Association is being formed in
Kodiak to work with the RPT in developing the plan, and identifying and
implementing enhancement and /or rehabilitation goals; and
WHEREAS, this non - profit corporation will be comprised of
representatives of all gear types harvesting salmon and others in the
community interested in the salmon fishery.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly expresses its support for the formation of a Regional Aquaculture
Association in Kodiak.
