KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NO. 83 -24 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING
THE ACQUISITION OF CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE EASEMENTS TO
ACCOMMODATE CONSTRUCTION OF SERVICE DISTRICT NO. 1 WATER AND SEWER
IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT 82 -1 AND HUD- SEWER.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly approved
Resolution No. 81 -5 -R on February 3, 1981 authorizing application
for a HUD Small Cities Block Grant to finance construction of the
sewer for the Kodiak Island Housing Authority housing project
located within Kadiak Alaska Subdivision, U. S. Survey 3469; and
WHEREAS, the HUD grant was approved on June 30, 1981 in
the amount of $200,000; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly approved Resolution No.
81 -52 -R on September 3, 1981 accepting Grant No. 4 -255 from the
State of Alaska for construction of the Island Lake Water and
Sewer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly approved Resolution No.
81 -87 -R accepting a matching fund grant from the Alaska Department
of Environmental Conservation; and
WHEREAS, the firm of URS Engineers was retained to
prepare construction documents; and
WHEREAS, URS Engineers' Design Memorandum was approved
by the Service District No. 1 Advisory Board and the Architectural
'Review Board on August 4, 1982; and
�i WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Board recommended that
the first two segments of the project be advertised as one phase,
during a public meeting on September 28, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly concurred in that
I recommendation and authorized advertising for bids during its

meeting of October 4, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the final plans and specifications were
the

1 Architectural Review Board on December 7, 1982; and
II . WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain construction and
I easements from the following property owners before
proceeding with construction:
