RESOLUTION NO. 83 -20 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY RECOGNIZING THE
NEED FOR A MULTI -USE AUDITORIUM.
WHEREAS, the current remodel of the Junior High School will leave
the Community and Schools with insufficient performing arts facility, and
WHEREAS, the Auditorium Committee, composed of representatives of all
user groups has recently developed, with an architect retained by the Borough
Assembly, a design for a multi -use auditorium, and
WHEREAS, the needs of the Community as defined over a number of years
I hhave been incorporated in the current recommendations of the Auditorium
omnittee, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School District has identified
this project as its first priority, and
WHEREAS, for several years the Community of Kodiak has demonstrated
idespread need for and support of a performing arts /multi -use auditorium.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly'.
at a meeting held on the third day of February, 1983, did recognize the need
for a multi -use auditorium which preserves the integrity of the design developed'.
by the Auditorium Committee and did affirm the Assembly's support for the
earliest possible funding and construction of this project.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of February
the Borough Assembly.
