A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH REQUESTING FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FOR THE MUNICIPAL LAND DISPOSAL GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, AS 38.04.021 provides for financial assistance to
municipalities executing a land disposal program of general land grant
entitlements received from the State of Alaska under AS 29.18.021, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is eligible to submit a
request to the Department of Natural Resources for inclusion in the fiscal
year 1984 budget appropriations for the disposal of land conveyed under
AS 29.18, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has developed a schedule for
the disposal of municipal lands for the next five years, said schedule based
on an assessment of the demand for private land within the municipality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly hereby authorizes the Borough Manager to submit a request to the
Department of Natural Resources for a grant request in order to implement a
program that is consistent with a five -year municipal land disposal plan.
