RESOLUTION NO. 82 -75 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY TO AUTHORIZE CERTAIN
EXPENDITURES TO THE STATE PUBLIC RETIREMENT FUND (PERS).
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, by AS Sec. 39.35.125(a), provides that
all elected officials shall automatically be contributing members of the Public
(Employees Retirement System (PERS), effective January 1, 1981, unless they so
(decline in writing not to be members, and
WHEREAS, the Borough Manager, although under contract, is deemed to be
an employee rather than one under contracted services for the purpose of this
fund, and
WHEREAS, the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough has appropriated
certain fixed sums of money for payment of these retirement benefits that is not
sufficient to cover the foregoing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that staff is hereby authorized and
directed to effect the following line item changes in the budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that staff is authorized and directed to
effect the necessary payment to the State PERS fund to bring these accounts
current. The Borough shall pay both the 4.25% individual contribution and the
12.54% employer contribution for all arrarage. The individuals will pay current;
deduction.
