1982-65 Requesting The Bureau Of Land Management To The State Of Alaska For Lot 1, U.S. Survey 2539.I > KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 82 -E5 -R A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH REQUESTING THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT TO PROCESS THE FEDERAL PATENT TO THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR LOT 1, U. S. SURVEY 2539. WHEREAS, the ability to obtain mortgage financing is contingent on having a marketable land title document, and WHEREAS, the marketable and title document for lands conveyed to the Kodiak Island Borough fran the State of Alaska for the Bells Flats and Russian Creek Alaska Subdivision is clouded because the State of Alaska has not received a patent from the federal government, and WHEREAS, this land is within the selection of the Bureau of Land Management file AA 597, and WHEREAS, the federal patent for the land in question has been contin- gent on the approval of the resubdivision of U. S. Survey 2539 which was finalized on July 13, 1982, and WHEREAS, the process for patent delivery normally takes up to a year unless a higher priority is assigned to the process, and WHEREAS, as soon as the patent is recorded the State patent to the Borough can be re- recorded and complete the chain of title that will permit mortgage financing thereby allowing development of needed housing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly requests the Bureau of Land Management to give number one priority to processing ;the federal patent to the State of Alaska for Lot 1, U. 5. Survey 2539 containing 8,363.43 acres and keep the Assembly informed of any progress in this matter.
