RESOLUTION NO. 82 -57 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING THE
RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF ENTITLEMENT FUNDS UNDER THE MUNICIPAL AID PROGRAM
(PER CAPITA) CHAPTER 60, SLA 81 AND AS 37.05.315.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has been appropriated funds for
an entitlement per person residing within Borough boundaries excluding any
other cities or the Coast Guard
found in
Substation under the Municipal Aid Program
Chapter 60, SLA 81 and AS 37.05.315, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has authority under State Law or
local code to provide
services allowed under such legislation, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is entitled to receive $257.50 per
capita plus $3.92 for the 2,812 people residing within the boundaries of the
Borough resulting in an entitlement of $724,093.92, and
WHEREAS, since none of the selected projects is estimated to cost
over $1,000,000 it has been determined that voter approval will not be required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough is hereby
authorized to receive and expend Municipal Assistance Entitlement Funds from the
State of Alaska in the amount of $724,093.92 for the following projects:
1. Fire Station Contribution
2. Develop Neighborhood Playgrounds on
Road System

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that the
Borough Manager, Phil C. Shealy, is hereby authorized to prepare and submit the
appropriate applications as required by the Municipal Aid Program.
