WHEREAS,
The Kodiak State Parks Citizen's Advisory Council is
requesting that the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources,
Division
of Parks, select, acquire and develop scenic waysides and overlooks
on Pillar
! i WHEREAS, The Pillar Mountain area continues
to be used increasingly
Borough; and
for the purpose of outdoor recreation by the citizens of the Kodiak Island
1 WHEREAS, The Pillar Mountain
i for visitors to the area is an important tourist attract iod
e Kodiak Island Borough; and
i I WHEREAS, The establishment of several scenic waysides and overlooks
on Pillar Mountain, would preserve and dedicate land for the purposes of
recreation and tourism;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kodiak Island Borough
!Assembly supports and requests the selection,
several scenic acquisition and development of
waysides and overlooks on Pillar Mountain, by the State of
Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks.
