1982-14 Supporting House Bill 201 In The Twelfth Legislature Of The State Of Alaska.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING HOUSE
BILL 201 IN THE TWELFTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has obtained voter
authorization for major improvements to the various school complexes throughout.
the Borough, and
WHEREAS, the current high cost of interest on financing these projects
is prohibitive, and
WHEREAS, partial interest payments on municipal bonds as a general fund
subsidy to local government is essential in order to insure timely construction
and improvements to these needed school complexes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough supports House Bill. 201, submitted to the Twelfth Legislature of the
State of Alaska, entitled "An Act Making Special Appropriation to the
Department of Revenue to Provide Partial Interest Payment on Municipal Bonds
as a General Fund Subsidy to Local Governments "; and providing for an effective
date;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that
the Borough Administration be directed to send this resolution to Senator
Mulcahy and Representatives Sutcliffe and Zharoff and implore their assistance it
the successful adoption of this legislation.
