A OF A CONTRACTEFOR UENGINEERING SERVICES WITH URS COMPANY E FOR Y WATER O AND I SEWER PROVAI.
IMPROVEMENTS IN SERVICE DISTRICT NO. I.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough by Resolution 81 -52 -R and Resolution
81 -87 -R have authorized receipt and expenditure of approximately $7,036,000
,'for the design and construction of water and sewer improvements in Service
District No. 1, and
WHEREAS previously completed studies indicate that approximately
'29,000 feet of water distribution mains
Cost $524,975
Fixed fee 86,600
Geotechnical 18,400
Contingencies 30,525
and approximately 34,000 feet of sewer
collection piping and appurentances are to be planned and designed as Phase I of
:the project, and
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough is willing to undertake the design and
'construction of the water and sewer improvements in Service District No. 1 to the
extent allowed by available funding, and
WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Board has recommended that URS Company
provide the engineering services necessary to plan and design the required water
and sewer improvements, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has authorized staff to
negotiate the necessary required engineering contracts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
Iithat the contract for engineering services provided by URS Company for design of
water and sewer improvements in Service District No. 1 is approved with cost
;land fixed fee not to exceed the following except for special services which
:shall be approved by the Assembly in advance:
TOTAL COST $660,500
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above expenditures are hereby
authorized from the funds received for the Island Lake Water and Sewer project
and the Borough Manager is hereby authorized and instructed to execute the
