BALLOT AT THE NEXT BOROUGH ELECTION AN INITIATIVE PARTIALLY
EXEMPTING BOATS AND VESSELS FROM AD VALORUM PROPERTY TAXES.
The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly resolves:
Section 1. There shall be placed upon the
ballot at one next regular municipal election the
following proposition:
Shall the following ordinance be enacted:
3.24.025 Taxation of Boats and Vessels.
A. Each boat and vessel of a registered or
certified net tonnage less than or equal to 5 tons which
is maintained in the borough is subject to a tax of
$5.00 per year.
B. Each boat and vessel registered or certified
with a net tonnage of more than 5 tons which is maintained
in the borough is subject to a tax of $15.00 per year.
C. Boats and vessels taxed under this section
are exempt from all other personal property taxes levied
by the Kodiak Island Borough.
