RESOLUTION NO. 80 -36 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING A
DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT OF NEAR ISLAND BY THE STATE OF ALASKA
WHEREAS, representatives from the Department of Transportation and
Public Facilities, State of Alaska, met in Kodiak, Alaska on July 16, 1980 for
the purpose of discussing the immediate development of Near Island; and,
WHEREAS, this subject proposal was concurred with by both Kodiak
Island Borough and the City of Kodiak; and,
WHEREAS, there is an extreme need for additional moorage facilities,
breakwaters and access to Near Island and the State of Alaska has appropriated
funds for commencement; and,
WHEREAS, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities
will continue to coordinate development with the Kodiak Island Borough and the
City of Kodiak.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
of Kodiak, Alaska, that the State of Alaska's development concept of Near
Island boat harbor and bridge is favored and does hereby support and encourage
• this development.
