RESOLUTION NO. 80 -22 -R
A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE PERMITS AND LEASES FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE TERROR LAKE HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT BE GRANTED.
WHEREAS, the Terror Lake Hydroelectric Project will in-
volve tentative approved State of Alaska land selections that are
withdrawn for Native village selection and also selected by the
Kodiak Island Borough; and,
WHEREAS, the Native village withdrawals involving these
l i lands are pending and the final decision will not be timely to
allow for a final decision prior to the 1980 designing and con-
struction season; and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly endorses the
Terror Lake Hydroelectric Project to provide Kodiak Island
Borough citizens with a dependable electric power source that
is not dependent on fossil fuels.
NOW, THEREFORE BE LT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly that the Kodiak Island Borough has no objection
to the appropriate Land managing authority to issue permits,
leases and licenses to the Kodiak Electric Association, Inc.
necessary for design and construction of the Terror Lake Hydro -
l i d electric Project; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that the Kodiak Island Borough does not object to the
L issuing of the permits, leases and licenses necessary on Kodiak
