A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY RATIFYING AND
CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER 23, 1979 RUN -OFF ELECTION.
WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Kodiak Island Borough held a General
Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, October 2, 1979. at which time
only one of the candidates for the two positions of Borough Assemblyman for
two (2) three -year terms received in excess of forty percent (40 %) of the votes
cast for those offices; therefore the Borough held a Run -Off Election for the
other Assembly position of three -years on Tuesday, October 23, 1979. A Notice
of the Run -Off Election being published at least five days before that date, and)
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered to and
canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly:

RESOLUTION NUMBER 79 -56 -R
Section 1. The Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and declares
the results of the October 23, 1979, Run -Off Election for the position of
Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term to be as follows:
That WILLIAM G. WILLIAMS received 248 votes for the position
of Borough Assemblyman and that PATRICK H. CANNON, JR. received 302 votes
for that position. The following write -in, John Eufemio received 4 votes.
Therefore it is hereby declared that PATRICK H. CANNON, JR. has been elected
to the three -year term of Assemblyman.
Section 2. The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
perform any and all duties in connection with the certification of these
results and the swearing in of the successful candidate for office.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly this
27th day of October, 1979.
