-- A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A:
SCHOOL A4' OUZINKIE, AND FOR CERTAIN CONTINGENT BOROUGH COMMITMENTS WITH RESPECT

WHEREAS, the Assembly has authorized award of a contract for construe -,
it tion of a school at Ouzinkie, (Project No. H0303), to NORCON, subject to
approval of the State Department of Transportation and Public Works, (the De-
, Partment), and,
WHEREAS, the amount bid exceeds funds allocated in the existing pro-
ject budget, and,
WHEREAS, the Department has determined that the amount needed may not
Hone from construction contingency funds, and,
WHEREAS, the required funds may be provided by transfer from unencum-
funds currently allocated for equipment, and,
WHEREAS, the Department will approve use of equipment funds for the
bered
purpose only upon assurance from the Borough that it will provide the funds
necessary to bring the equipment budget to its original level, if needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly resolves:
1. A contract for construction of a school at Ouzinkie shall
be awarded to NORCON in the amount of $1,064,037 to include
base bid and alternates 2 through 4, subject to final approval
by commissioner of the Department.
2. Project budget line item 77E, equipment, currently $73,165
is reduced by $73, 165, which amount is transferred to con-
struction and restricted funds.
3. The Borough will allocate additional funds for line item 77E,
in the amount of $73, 165 , if such funds are not available
from fund reserves or other sources.
4. The Acting Borough Manager, Gary L. Hovanec, or his successor,
or the designee of either, approved by the Assembly, is substitut-
ed for Stuart 0. Denslow as Facility Coordinator for this project.)
5. The Assembly hereby accepts the Alaska le slations
in Ch. 134 -78, Sec. 1 (20) in the amount o $1,001,000.00, r and ions I
Ch. 80 -80 in the amount of $100,000.00 for school construction
at Ouzinkie.
