WHEREAS, the Department will approve use of equipment funds for the
purpose only upon assurance from the Borough that it will provide the funds

RESOLUTION NO. 79. -R
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A
SCHOOL AT LARSIN BAY, AND FOR CERTAIN CONTINGENT BOROUGH COMMITMENTS WITH RE-
SPECT TO FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the Assembly has authorized award of a contract for construc-
tion of a school at Tarsen Bay, (Project No. H03004), to L.B. Anderson, and
Cooper Construction Co., a joint venture, subject to approval of the State De-
partment of Transportation and Public Works, (the Department), and;
WHEREAS, the amount bid exceeds funds allocated in the existing pro-
ject budget, and;
WHEREAS, the Department has determined that the amount needed may not
came from construction contingency funds, and;
WHEREAS, the required funds may be provided by transfer from unencum- I
necessary to bring the equipment budget to its original level, if needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly resolves:
1. A contract for construction of a school at Tarsen Bay shall be
awarded to L.B. Anderson/Cooper Construction Co., in the amount
of $1,247,000 to include base bid and alternates 1 through 3,
subject to final approval by commissioner of the Department.

2. Project budget line item 77E, equipment, currently $128,068,
is reduced to 0, and $128.068 is transferred to construction
contracts and restricted funds.
3. The Borough will allocate.additional funds for line item 77E, in
the amount of $128,068, if such funds are not available from
fund reserves or other sources.
4. The Acting Borough Manager, Gary L. Hovanec, or his successor,
or the designee of either, approved by the Assembly; is substitut
ed for Stuart 0. Denslow as Facility Coordintor for this project. 1
