1979-39 Authorizing The Renting Of The Apartment Building Complex Located On Lot 5 Of U.S. Survey 2538A.WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the holder of a
use permit from the Alaska Department of Education for use and
operation of the land and improvements located on lot 5 of U.S.
Survey 2538A, and
WHEREAS, Title 18.40.020B of the Kodiak Island Borough
Code of Ordinances provides for negotiating a lease to a non-
profit corporation at a reasonable rental rate, taking into
consideration the purpose for which the real property is to be
used, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA)
qualifies as a non - profit organization and provides a necessary
domiciliary program for children from the borough area to attend
school in the Kodiak Island Borough system,
NOW THEREFORE, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
it authorizes a three year extension of the current use permit with
KANA to provide a domiciliary program for children from the
borough area. The domiciliary program is limited to those
persons receiving educational advancement opportunities and
those providing the necessary supervision of the program.
FURTHER, that fifteen thousand ($15,000.00) will be
budgeted each year for major maintenance projects.
