A RESOLUTION OF KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING
THE LEASING OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH OFFICE
BUILDING
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the managing operator,
,'of Lots 5 and 7 of U. S. Survey 2538A and all the improvements
!thereon, and,
WHEREAS, the main building, a former dormitory, has been
I !converted to an office building of which approximately 67 percent
I
l is used for office space and the remaining space is common area,
hand,
WHEREAS, the property deed contains a restrictive clause
limiting the property use to school and other public purposes
only and,
j WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to
I manage the property as a self- sustaining enterprise and to meet
1 'this goal it is advantageous to provide for full occupancy by rent -
'jing the available office space to qualifying occupants, giving
first priority to school and borough use,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly authorizes five year leases for office space be negotiated
to the following governmental and qualifying nonprofit corporationsk
1. Kodiak Island Borough School District
2. Kodiak Island Borough
3. City of Kodiak
4. KMXT Radio Station
5. Kodiak Area Chamber of Commerce
6. Kodiak Council on Alcoholism
The terms and conditions of the leases shall be those provided in
the written document as prepared by Borough counsel and reviewed by
the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
