A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY REQUESTIf
ASSUMPTION OF A PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT GRANT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCT
HIGH SCHOOL FACILITY AT LARSEN BAY, ALASKA.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to applt
local assumption of a public works project grant for the purpose of cor
a new high school facility at Larsen Bay, Alaska, in accordance with ec
specifications and recomsendations of the Kodiak Island Borough School
and,
WHEREAS said project shall be known as the Larsen Bay High
be located in the village of Larsen Bay, Alaska, within Kodiak Island
and,
WHEREAS, funding for such project will be provided under te .
grant agreement between the State of Alaska, Department of Transportat
Public Facilities and the Kodiak Island Borough in an amount of One Mi
, Six Hundred and Thirty -Seven Thousand, One Hundred Dollars ($1,637,100
provided by Chapter 134/78 of SCSHB 251 of 1978, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly does hereby aut.
Mayor Betty J. Wallin and Assemblyman Arnold T. Hansen as signatories
facility procurement contract between the State of Alaska, Department
portation and Public Facilities and the Kodiak Island Borough, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly does hereby author
and delegate Stuart O. Denslow to prepare and execute an application for
assumption of the public works project grant and a facilities procurement
contract in accordance with A.S. 35.15.080,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borouq
does hereby agree as follows:
1. Name a facility coordinator whose qualifications
shall generally meet the State's grantee
facility coordinator job description;
2. Name the architectural firm of Maynard NBBJ
Alaska, 746 "F" Street, Anchorage, Alaska, as
architectural engineering consultants for
design and construction supervision of the
project;

3. The estimated cost of equipment for the new
facilities will represent approximately ten
percent of the total construction cost of the
project;
4. Agrees to provide art work in public places
within the facility representing one -half
of one percent of the total construction cost
of the project;
5. Hereby requests that ownership of the facility
be vested in the grantee at the conclusion of
construction.
6. Attest that title to the project site is
vested with Kodiak Island Borough.
