A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DETERMINING WHETHER SEWER SERVICE, WATER SERVICE AND ROAD SERVICE
SHALL BE PROVIDED IN SERVICE DISTRICT I OF THE MILL BAY - MONASHKA
SERVICE AREA.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough
as follows:
SECTION 1. A special election shall be held on the Y8'th
day of April 1978, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and
at such election the following propositions shall be submitted
to the duly qualified voters who are residents of Service District
I of the Mill Bay - Monashka Service Area.
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the Kodiak Island Borough exercise sewer
powers within Service District I of the Mill Bay -
Monashka Service Area including, but not limited
to, powers to construct, maintain, repair and
replace public sewage collection, transmission,
treatment and disposal systems and facilities.

service powers within Service District I of the
Mill Bay - Monashka Service Area including, but not
limited to, powers to construct, maintain, repair
and replace public water production, collection,
storage, treatment and transmission systems and

SECTION 2. The election shall be in accordance with the
laws of the State of Alaska and Title 2 of the Kodiak Island
Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions.
SECTION 3. A person who is qualified to vote in Alaska
and the Kodiak Island Borough, and 1s a resident of Service
District I of the Mill Bay - Monashka Service Area, may vote in the
election. Service District I of the Mill Bay- Monashka Service
Area is described as follows:
Lands surveyed and unsurveyed lying within the following
described exterior boundary; beginning at corner #2 of
USS 2538 -A thence N 55 21' E 61.152 chains to a point
which is the most westerly corner of Tract A of USS 2538 -A

SECTION 4. For purposes of this election the Service Dis-
trict shall constitue one precinct and the polling place shall be
located at East Elementary School

SECTION 5. Notice of election shall be published not less
than thirty (30) days prior to the election in the form and
manner provided by A. S. 29.33. and Title 2 of the Kodiak
Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions.
