RESOLUTION NUMBER 78 -2 -R
A RESOLUTION TO CANCEL THE MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO
JUNE 17, 1 965, BETWEEN THE STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES, DIVISION OF LANDS AND THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough and the State of Alaska,
Department of Natural Resources, Division of Lands entered into
a management agreement on June 17, 1965; and
WHEREAS, the agreement requires the State's disposal pro-
cedures be used when managing the Borough lands; and
WHEREAS, the agreement was amended on November 4, 1971, to
provide for specific parcels of Borough lands to be removed from
the management agreement thus allowing the Kodiak Island Borough
to manage those parcels so identified from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has adopted ordinances
pertaining to zoning, subdividing lands, and land management in-
cluding the sale and leasing of land; and
WHEREAS, the management function performed by the State for
the Borough has been greatly appreciated during these past 121
years; and
WHEREAS, the agreement provides for the cancellation of
same by mutual agreement or by giving the other party one year
notice of cancellation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough gives notice to the State of Alaska, Department of Natural
Resources, Division of Lands to cancel the management agreement
in its entirety as soon as possible by mutual consent but not larhr
than one year from receipt of this resolution.
