A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER 2nd, 1973,
GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough
held a General Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, the
2nd day of October, 1973, at which time candidates for the
following offices to be filled were voted on:
One (1) Borough Chairman for a two -year term; One (1)
' Borough Assemblyman for a two -year unexpired term; One (1)
Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term; One (1) School
Board Member for a one -year unexpired term and Two(2) School
Board Members for three -year terms each, and
The following proposition was submitted to the
qualified voters of the Karluk Rural Fire Protection District
Only:
"Shall the Kodiak Island Borough Karluk Rural Fire
Protection District provide for fire protection?"
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been
delivered to and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Asserbiv.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island

Sect: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies
and declares the results of the General Municipal Election ^.e1_'
within the Kodiak Island Borough on Tuesday, October 2, 197),
to be as follows:
That C. ROSS WOOD received 793

II of Borough Chairman for the two -year term; E. (GINO) GUERRA
received 463 votes for that
;I position; there was one vote
each for Betty Wallin, Fred Katelnikoff; two votes for Paul
(Smokey) Stover and six votes for Wilton T. White.
� Therefore, it is hereby declared that C. ROSS WOOD
1 1 has been elected to the two -year term as Borough Chairman.
That MICHAEL EMMICK received 77 votes for the
position of two -year term on the Borough Assembly; JOHN EUFEMIO
received 159 votes for that position; BETTY WALLIN received
256 votes for that position and ROBERT SNYDER received 55
votes for that position. Therefore, it is hereby declared
that BETTY WALLIN has been elected to the two -year term on
the Borough Assembly.
That DENNIS NELSON received _313= votes for the position
of three -year term on the Borough Assembly; Dean (SHORTY) TAYLOR
received 32 votes for that position and PAUL (SMOKEY) STOVER
received 195 votes for that position; there was one vote
received for Jo Hajdu. Therefore, it is hereby declared that

DENNIS NELSON has been elected to the wo -year term on the
Borough Assembly.
That JUDITH RICE received 301 votes for the position
of one -year term on the School Board; BURDETTE (JACK) LECHNER
received 899 votes for that position; there was one vote each
for ZACK CHICHENOFF, DONNA BLAIR, PAUL STOVER, ALAN AUSTERMAN.
Therefore, it is hereby declared that BURDETTE (JACK) LECHNER
has been elected to the one -year term on the School Board.
That CLIFFORD DAVIDSON received 682 votes for the
position of School Board Member, three -year term; JO HAJDU
1 received 921 votes for that position; JOHN PUGH received 530
votes for that position; there was one vote each for DELNO
OLDHAM, ANN HAASE, JIM BRANSON, LOUI CASTRO AND JIM PAYNE, THREE
EMIL NORTON, and there are two positions to be filled. Therefore

have been elected to the School Board, each for a three -year
term.

That the Proposition placed before the voters of
the Karluk Rural Fire District received the following count:

Therefore, it is hereby declared that the Karluk
Rural Fire District will provide for fire protection.
Section 2: The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to perform any and all duties in connection with
the certification of these results, and the swearing in of the
successful candidates for office.
