CALLING A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
FOR THE PROTECTION DISTRICT SSHALL OPROVIDEEFORHFIRE PROTECTIONFTO
BE PLACED ON THE BALLOT AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION TO
BE HELD OCTOBER 2, 1973.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough, State of Alaska, that:
Section A general election is to be held on
October 2, 1973, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
of said date and that there be submitted to the duly qualified
voters of Kodiak Island Borough KARLUK RURAL FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT the following proposition:
"Shall the Kodiak Island Borough KARLUK RURAL FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT provide for fire protection?
YES /7
NO /-
Section 2: The election shall be in accordance with
the laws of the State of Alaska and Chapter Four of the
Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions.
Section 3: A person who is qualified to vote in
Alaska and the Kodiak Island Borough and is a resident of
the KARLUK RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT described as:
"Beginning at a point on Cape Karluk at 57 °34'48"
N Latitude, 154 ° 30' W Longitude, as shown on C &CS
Chart No. 8541; thence South along 154 ° 30' W Longitude
to 57 ° 33'36" N Latitude; thence East to 154 ° 25' W

Section 4: For purposes of this election the service
area shall constitute one precinct and the polling place shall
be located at Karluk School, Karluk, Alaska.

Section 5: Notice of the election shall be published
not less than thirty (30) days prior to the election in the
form and manner provided by AS 29.33.290 and Chapter 4 of the
Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions.
