1972-45 Ratifying And Confirming The Results Of The October 3, 1972 General Election.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NUMBER 72 -45-R A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER 3RD GENERAL ELECTION 11 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough jl !held a General Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, the Il 3rd day of October, 1972, at which time candidates for the following offices to be filled were voted on: One (1) Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term; one (1) Borough Assemblyman for a one -year term; and two School (Board Members for three -year terms each, and WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been to and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough 4 Assembly. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly: Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and declares the results of the General Municipal Election held within the Kodiak Island Borough on Tuesday, October 3, 1972, to be as follows: That C. ROSS WOOD received votes for the position of Borough Assemblyman for the three -year term; DON ARNDT received 132 votes for that position; DONALD BRUNNER received en votes for that position; and E. GUERRA received G2. votes for that position; that no candidate received in excess of forty percent (40%) of the vote cast for his respective office, as required by Section 2 9.28.040 of the Municipal Code. Therefore, a run -off election shall be held within the Kodiak Island Borough for the position of a three -year term for the Borough Assembly, on Thursday, October 19, 1972, and notice of the run -off election shall be published at least five (5) days before that date, and at election the person receiving the majority vote for that office Page One, RESOLUTION NO. 72 - - 1 1 1 ATTEST: Acting Borough Clerk shall be declared to be elected. That HARRY CLOWES received 677 votes for the position of one -year term on the Borough Assembly; DENNIS NELSON received votes for that position; and F. D. GENTIS received 175 votes for that position. Therefore, it is hereby declared that DENNIS NELSON has been elected to the one -year term on the Borough Assembly. That HAZEL ARDINGER received 493 votes for the position of School Board Member; VAL JEAN BENTON received votes for that position; DONNA M. BLAIR received 355 votes for that position; J. D. FULP received ,530 votes for that position; DAVID HENLEY received 274 votes for that position; BURDETTE LECHNER received 380 votes for that position; TONY PEREZ received 137 votes; there was one vote each for JONES; CHANDLER (MRS.) Charles Jchnson and KENNETH CAIN, /and there were two such positions to be filled; therefore, it is hereby declared that J. D. FULP and HAZEL ARDINGER have been elected to the School Board, each for three -year terms. Section 2: The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of the Special Run -off Election to be held within the Borough on Thursday, October 19, 1972, and to perform any and all duties in connection with the certification of these results, and the swearing in of the successful candidates for office.
