BOROUGH -STATE THE KODIAK
LAND MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT AND DECLARING THEM SURPLUS TO THE
BOROUGH'S NEEDS
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough and the State of
Alaska, through its Department of Natural Resources Division of
Lands, entered into a Land Management Agreement dated June 17,
'1965, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough desires to withdraw;
;from said Land Management Agreement certain lands consisting of
;the following:
Alaska State Land Survey No. 72 -11, a 15.85
acre tract, being a portion of U. S. Survey
No. 2539, a plat of which was aporoved by the
Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning
Commission on June 21, 1972, and by the Kodiak
Island Borough Assembly by Resolution No.
7 2 -29 -R on July 6, 1972.
WHEREAS, a request has been received from EUGENE F.
BRASIE to lease the above - described land for a period of
!fifty -five (55) years, for the purpose of constructing a cocktail
lounge and steak house thereon, and a ten -unit motel, and
developing a portion of it for a water supply system for said
facilities, and

l Said property not being needed for or devoted to
public purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly that the following- described tract of land

1 situated in the Kodiak Recording Precinct, Third Judicial
District, State of Alaska, to -wit:

Alaska State Land Survey No. 72 -11, a 15.85
acre tract, being a portion of U. S. Survey
No. 2539, as shown in plat approved by
Resolution of the Borough Assembly dated
July 6, 1972, Resolution No. 72 -29 - R
Which the Borough acquired by selection from the
State of Alaska, be and the same is hereby withdrawn from the
control and management of the State of Alaska Department of
Natural Resources Division of Lands.
Be it FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be and the
same is hereby declared surplus to the Borough's needs and not
' needed for or devoted to a public use, and the Borough Chairman
be and he is hereby authorized to have a current appraisal made
of said property as required under Chapter 6, Section 12 of the
Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions and to
advertise said property for lease for a period of fifty -five
(55) years pursuant to the application of EUGENE F. BRASIE,
submitted upon the deposit of the necessary costs as provided
in Chapter 6, Section 8 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of
Ordinances and Resolutions.
