RESOLUTION NUMBER 72 -30 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE BOROUGH'S NEEDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE BOROUGH CHAIRMAN AND THE BOROUGH CLERK TO
CONVEY THE SAME TO THE CITY OF KODIAK
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the owner of
certain real property described as:
Lots Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11), Twelve
(12), Thirteen (13), Fourteen (14), Fifteen
(15), Sixteen (16) and Seventeen (17), Block
Forty -two (42) of the East Addition to the
Townsite of Kodiak, and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 6 of the Kodiak Island
Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, the Borough is
authorized to convey to other political subdivisions, lands not
needed by the Borough for or devoted to a public use, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kodiak has indicated that it
desires to acquire the above - described real property for the
expansion of the Baranof Park and Recreation Area, and has the
funds with which to develop said property for said purposes fcr
the benefit of all of the residents of the Borough and City,
it is desirable that said property be transferred and used '
that purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak :sland
Borough Assembly that the following tracts of land:
Lots Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11), Twelve
(12), Thirteen (13), Fourteen (14), Fifteen
(15), Sixteen (16) and Seventeen (17), Block
Forty -two (42) of the East Addition to the
Townsite of Kodiak
Be and the same are hereby declared surplus to the
;Borough's needs, and that pursuant to the Kodiak Island Bor-_f.
;Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, the Borough Chairman and .^he
Borough Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to convey all -__
the Borough's right, title and interest in and to said property
to the City of Kodiak in consideration of the sum of TWENTY -SEVEN
THOUSAND and No /100ths ($27,000.00) DOLLARS, the appraised value
thereof according to an appraisal made less than ninety (90) days
prior to this date, said property to be used by the City for and
as a part of the Baranof Park and Recreation Area.
