A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK
ISLAND BOROUGH DESIGNATING A KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CIVIL DEFENSE
DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough, the City of
Kodiak and the Kodiak Island Borough School Board have entered
into a Memorandum of Understanding wherein it was recognized that
local government disaster response capabilities within the Kodiak
Island Borough are controlled by the Kodiak Island Borough, the
Kodiak Island Borough School District and the Cities of Kodiak,
Ouzinkie, Port Lions, Old Harbor, Akhiok, Karluk and Larson Bay,
WHEREAS, it was recognized that each of these entities
is responsible for disaster response within its respective
jurisdiction, but that a major disaster requires a coordinated
effort best achieved by a centralized command and control.
MOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly that the City Manager of the City of Kodiak be
and he is hereby designated as the Kodiak Island Borough Civil
Defense Director.
