1971-29 Ratifying And Confirming The Results Of The October 5, 1971 General Election Of The Kodiak Island Borough.1 1 1 1 . 1 '1 S i KODLAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NLtEER 71 -29 -R A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF DIE OCTOBER 5, 1971 GENERAL ELEGiiON OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH. 'N'N.EREAS, pursuant to Law the Kodiak Island Borough held a general municipal election in the Borough on Tuesday, October 5, 1971, at which tine candidates for the following offices to be filled were voted on: One (1) Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term and One (1) Borough Assemblyman for a one -year term; One (1) School Board Member for a three -year term and One (1) Borough Chairman for a two - year term. WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly: Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and declares the results of the general municipal election held within the Kodiak Island Borough on Tuesday, October 5, 1971, to be as follows: That Fred Brechan received 203 votes for the position of Borough Assembly for a three -year term; Okey Chandler received 176 votes for the position of Borough Assembly for a three -year term and Ronald Chase received 130 votes for the position of Borough Assembly for a three -year term; therefore Fred Brechan was elected to that position. That Donald Arndt received 4 3 4 votes for the position of Borough Assembly for a one -year term and there were no other candidates for that office, therefore Donald Arndt was elected to that position. That Ernest Brothers received 520 votes for the position of School Board for a three -year tent and Dr. Murray Hayes received 7 votes for the position of School Board for a three -year tens; therefore Dr. Murray Hayes was elected to that position. That Wilton T. White received 12 32 votes for the position of Borough Chairman far a two -year tens and was unchallenged in this office; therefore Wilton :. White was elected to this position. Section 2: The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to perform any and all duties in connection with the certification of these results and the swearing in of the successful candidates for office.
