1970-12 Requesting The Civil Aeronautics Board To Establish Air Service To Between Anchorage And Seattle.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NWBER 70 -12 -R
WHEREAS, the only air service between Anchorage and the Borough
of Kodiak is inconvenient and subject to frequent delays, and
WHEPEAS, the only year round air service between Seattle and the
Borough of Kodiak is through Anchorage and direct air service between
Seattle and the Borough of Kodiak is highly seasonal and often nonexistent,
and
WHEREAS, the present carrier serving the Borough of Kodiak from
the mainland has failed to promote and develop Kodiak Island tourism
BE 1T FORE RESOLVED, that the Borough of Kodiak respectfully
requests the Civil Aeronautics Board to require an air carrier to provide
improved service between the above points and to certificate for such
service an air carrier which recognizes that Kodiak Island is the gateway
to Western Alaska, which recognizes the needs of the Kodiak Island Community,
and which is responsive to its needs
