AN ORDINANCE AMENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES
TITLE 6 ANIMALS CHAPTER 6.04 ANIMAL CONTROL TO REFLECT
CHANGES TO PENALTIES AND REMEDIES
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough contracts to the City of Kodiak for animal
control services; and
WHEREAS, revisions to Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances 6.04.210 will
make the Borough code consistent with sections 7.04.170 through 7.04.180 of the
City of Kodiak Code of Ordinances, allowing for more efficient administration of the
animal control program; and
WHEREAS, revisions to KIBC 6.04.210 will allow violators to pay fines for some
violations that currently require a mandatory court appearance, thereby reducing the
number of times that the Borough attorney is consulted for these violations; and
WHEREAS, revisions to KIBC 6.04.030 will change an oversight in the original code
that limited control of annoying animals to dogs and cats, extending the definition to
include all annoying animals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become
a part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: Title 6, Chapter 04, Section 6.04.210(A) of the Kodiak Island Borough
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read:
6.04.210 Penalties and remedies.
