AN ORDINANCE AMENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES
TITLE 2 ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL
CHAPTER 2.33 DATA PROCESSING DEPARTMENT TO CHANGE THE NAME
TO THE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough needs to keep up with the changes that take
place within the different professions, industries, or disciplines that make up the
departments within the Borough; and
WHEREAS, the functions within the data processing field have changed from
processing -only data to encompassing all activities within the computer industry; and
WHEREAS, Management Information Systems Department is a title that better
reflects the functions and activities performed by the Data Processing Department;
and
WHEREAS, Management Information Systems Department is an acceptable title
within the computer industry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is a general and permanent nature and shall become a
part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: Chapter 2.33 of Title 2 in the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances
is amended to read:

2.33.030 Security officer. The
director shall be the security officer on all
systems including any equipment and systems that interface
equipment and /or systems.
Section 3: The change in name shall include any and all references to data
processing elsewhere in the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances
and Personnel Rules and Regulations 1994 Edition.
