1996-06 Rezone City of OuzinkieWHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on this rezoning; and WHEREAS, the City of Ouzinkie and the U.S. Public Health Service support this rezone; and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly approve this rezoning; and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission has adopted findings of fact in support of its recommendation. The parcel of land consisting of approximately 1,595 ± acres, near the City of Ouzinkie, and further described by the map and metes and bounds description included as part of this ordinance, is hereby rezoned from R1- Single Family Residential and C- Conservation to W- Watershed. The findings of the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission in recommending the approval of this rezone are hereby confirmed as follows: • • ! A change of zoning from R1- Single Family Residential and C- Conservation to the W- Watershed zoning district is necessary to provide basic protection of water quality for the City of Ouzinkie community and to ensure that future power generation needs of the community will be met. This rezone is in conformity with specific objectives and recommendations stated in both the 1968 Borough Comprehensive Plan and the 1984 Ouzinkie Comprehensive Plan.
