AN ORDINANCE AMENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES
TITLE 2 ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL CHAPTER 2.20 BOROUGH MAYOR
BY ADDING SECTION 2.20.25 COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, the assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough may, by ordinance, fix the
salary of the borough mayor; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to establish, by ordinance, a salary for a newly - elected,
first -term mayor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:

This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become
a part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Title 2 ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL Chapter 2.20 BOROUGH
MAYOR is hereby amended to add the following:
Section 2.20.25 Compensation
A. Compensation for a newly - elected first -term borough mayor shall be $60,000
per year.
B. The mayor's salary may be adjusted each year through the annual budgeting
process. The salary may not be reduced during the mayor's term of office.
C. The mayor's position is subject to applicable provisions of chapter 2.12 of this
title.
