1993-60 Amending Title 7 Elections.Section 1: Section 2: Kodialc Island Borough, Alaska Introduced by: Requested by: Drafted by: Introduced: Public Hearing: Amended: Adopted: Mayor Selby Borough Clerk Borough Clerk 08/05/93 08/19/93 08/19/93 08/19/93 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NO. 93 -60 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7 ELECTIONS OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES WHEREAS, the cost of printing and mailing election pamphlets to every registered voter has increased; and WHEREAS, an approximate savings of $2,500 would result from printing and mailing election pamphlets to every registered voter household rather than every registered voter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a part of the Code of Ordinances of the Kodiak Island Borough. Section 7.50.050 Absentee Voting by Mail is hereby amended as follows: D. An absentee ballot must be marked and attested on or before the date of the election. If the voter returns the ballot by mail, he shall use the most expeditious mail service and mail the ballot not later than the day of the election to the clerk. It must be postmarked on or before midnight of election day and received by the clerk no later than one week,_.s i'Cajelld r c ay . toaj following the election. Ballot envelopes received after that time shall not be opened but shall be marked "invalid ", with the date of receipt noted thereon, and shall be preserved for one year with other ballots of the election. Section 3: Section 7.60.010 Election pamphlet is hereby amended as follows: E. Not less than 20 days before the election, the borough clerk shall mail to every registered voter outehdjtj one copy of the pamphlet. Additional pamphlets may be obtained from the borough offices.
