WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough wishes to provide for coastal management
planning in the community; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Community Development Department
submitted a grant application requesting continuing funding assistance
for implementation of the Kodiak Island Borough Coastal Management
Program; and
WHEREAS, the funding request has been approved by the State of Alaska
Department of Community and Regional Affairs in an amount of
$56,150; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for routine implementation of the Kodiak Island
Borough Coastal Management Program and revision of the Kodiak Island
Borough Coastal Management Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is not of general application and shall not be codified.
Section 2: The mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to negotiate, execute,
and administer any and all documents and contracts required to obtain
the funds. The mayor, or his designee, is further authorized to manage
the funds on behalf of the Kodiak Island Borough, including the
execution of any subsequent amendments to the grant contract to allow
for adjustments to the project within the scope of services or tasks
specified in the grant.
