the Womens Bay Service Area for road service and fire protection was
established in 1975 by Ordinance No. 75 -2 % -0; and
a portion of the old military road whi continues from the end of
Sargent Creek Road toward Jack Lake • ovides the only practical access
to three houses which are within th• ervice area boundary and whose
owners are paying taxes for road rvices and fire protection; and
not maintaining this road woul deny access for the owners as well as
fire and emergency equipme and
Kodiak Island Borough Co' e 4.05.040 provides that the assembly shall
initiate any action to al r a service area by introducing an ordinance
effecting the propose action; and
Kodiak Island Borough Code 4.05.060 provides that an ordinance
altering a servi area shall not be effective unless approved by a
majority of the qualified voters voting on the question in each area
affected by t -- ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, B. T ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: The omens Bay Service Area will be altered by addition of the

Secti 5: Notice of the election shall be published not less than thirty days prior
to the election in the form and manner provided by AS 29.38.050 and
Ordinance No. 92 -16

Title 7 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 6: Upon passage of the proposition to alter the boundary of the omens
Bay Service Area by the qualified voters of that area and upon
certification of said election, this ordinance shall become °ffective.
